About Me
Ademola Adebise is a seasoned professional with a rich background in Management Consulting as well as the banking and finance sector. He served as the Managing Director of Wema Bank Plc from October 1, 2018, to March 31, 2023.
Born on October 31, 1966, in Lagos, Ademola Adebise is a product of the Surulere Baptist Primary School and Lagos Baptist Academy. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Lagos, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science between 1983 and 1987. Ademola furthered his education with a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Lagos Business School. He participated in the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School and the Advanced Leadership program at Cambridge University. Ademola Adebise is also a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
Career Journey
Commencing his career in 1988, Ademola Adebise embarked on the professional journey as a Programmer/Systems Analyst at a Nigerian Information Technology company. He later transitioned into the banking industry, initiating his banking career in the Information Technology department of Chartered Bank (now Stanbic IBTC bank).

Post Wema Bank
After stepping down as the MD/CEO of Wema Bank on March 31, 2023, I have maintained my engagement with the financial sector. I am currently serving as a Non-Executive Director on the boards of some industry-leading organisations. Additionally, I am furthering my education as a doctoral student at Cranfield School of Management, deepening my knowledge and expertise to continue contributing effectively to the industry.
